Your Mission

The VP of Finance will own financial strategy, planning, and execution. This role will oversee an external controller while consolidating financial operations, forecasting, budgeting, and compensation planning under a single leader. The ideal candidate has deep experience in SaaS finance, a proven ability to develop and maintain robust financial models, and a track record of guiding companies through high-growth phases and potential transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Lead all financial planning & analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling.
• Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, CTO, and Chief of Staff, providing insights on growth strategies, pricing models, and capital allocation.
• Manage financial reporting and board presentations, ensuring clarity on runway, burn rate, and key performance metrics.
• Oversee and collaborate with the external controller to ensure accurate accounting, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management

• Develop and maintain detailed financial models to guide decision-making on pricing, expansion, and cost management.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, ensuring financial stability and a clear path to profitability.
• Track and refine key SaaS unit economics, including CAC, LTV, payback period, and contribution margins.

Compensation, Equity & Performance Metrics

• Design and manage compensation plans, including variable pay structures for sales teams and performance-based incentives.
• Partner with leadership on hiring budgets, equity allocations, and long-term financial planning.
• Track and optimize core SaaS metrics (MRR, ARR, churn, net revenue retention) to drive business growth.

Fundraising & Transaction Readiness

• Support the CEO in fundraising efforts, including investor relations, financial due diligence, and capital structuring.
• Prepare the company for potential M&A or an exit, ensuring financial records and forecasts are audit-ready.
• Collaborate with external advisors on venture debt, growth equity, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

• 7-12 years of experience in finance, FP&A, or investment banking, ideally within a high-growth SaaS startup.
• Expertise in financial modeling, P&L management, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
• Deep understanding of SaaS revenue models, including usage-based, outcome-based, and hybrid pricing strategies.
• Experience working with VC-backed companies, founders, and board members.
• High energy and high integrity, with a proactive, hands-on approach to financial leadership.
• Ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment, balancing strategic vision with tactical execution.
