As a Sales Engineer, you are responsible for providing technical expertise during the pre-sales process along with customer feedback to our product and marketing teams. You will focus on understanding the customers’ business objectives then show how our solutions can help them achieve their goals. You will collaborate with sales, marketing, and product to share best practices and insights. Sales Engineers at FinQuery are product experts that are great at communicating.
Reports to Manager, Sales

What you will be doing:

  • Engage with prospects and customers as a consultant role showing how our solutions can help meet their business and technical goals.
  • In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams providing customer feedback and influencing our go-to-market messaging.
  • Responsible for preparing for meetings and tailoring communications to address business needs of potential clients as part of the pre-sales process.
  • Build deep relationships with customers to enable them to be FinQuery advocates.
  • Continuously improve professional skills with a focus on personal mastery and team learning through activities such as training, reading, and seeking mentorship from others.
  • Gather and document client requirements in order to translate requirements into software presentation that conforms to client needs.
  • Responsible for staying current on competitive analyses and understanding differentiators between the company and its competitors.
  • Retain a competent level of knowledge and technical hands-on experience across products, solutions, and sales propositions.
  • Document all calls, emails, and other relevant sales activity in Salesforce accurately and timely.
  • Represent FinQuery by adequately preparing for and participating in conferences and events.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with FinQuery policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What experience and skills we need you to have:

  • 2-5 years experience in Pre-Sales, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Consulting, Technical Account Management, Professional Services or other related roles.
  • 1+ years experience interacting with leadership at customers including the offices of the CFO, CIO, CTO, or COO.
  • Proficient in using Salesforce along with Google Business Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong familiarity with SaaS applications such as IDPs (Google Workspace, Okta, etc.), ERPs (Sage Intacct, NetSuite), and commonly used point solutions (Salesforce, Adobe, etc.).
  • Preferably past experience or knowledge of the SaaS Management (SMP), SaaS Spend Management, or Software Asset Management market.
  • Ability to work complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Ability to handle customer situations with ownership and a bias for action.
  • Expertise in discovery conversations, value-based selling, and world class demonstration and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to juggle and complete multiple priorities and projects (both internal and external) in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience building rapport and working with cross functional teams spanning sales, product management, product marketing and business development
  • Mastery of the technical sales process, solution design, and proof of value execution
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports
  • A positive attitude towards change and ability to adapt.
