LeaseQuery is looking for a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. In the Staff Accountant role, you will be responsible for helping the accounting team close the books monthly and report timely and accurate financial results for the company. The Staff Accountant will also assist in all daily accounting operations and play an integral part in ensuring accurate data for our financial reporting and results.
What you will be doing:
- Assisting with month-end close procedures including preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Performing accounts payable functions including entering invoices into our AP system, obtaining appropriate approvals, scheduling payments, and reconciling activity to the general ledger.
- Classifying, reconciling, and reviewing corporate credit card expenses and employee reimbursements.
- Daily cash application of customer payments and tracking of cash activity.
- Assisting with vendor related tax reporting forms (collect W-9’s, issue 1099’s, etc.).
- Preparing and reconciling payroll journal entries.
- Monthly capitalization of fixed assets and calculation of depreciation.
- Maintaining accruals and prepaids amortization schedules.
- Assisting with commission calculations and preparing commission statements.
- Cross-training to assist with billing and collections efforts when needed.
- Assisting in preparation of schedules for external auditors for financial statement audit, tax returns, as well as other audits.
- Providing support for various ad hoc projects as needed.
What experience and skills we need you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 0-3 years accounting experience
- 1 year of public accounting experience is ideal but not required
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and organize efficiently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems
- Basic knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures as relates to general ledger accounting. NetSuite Experience a plus
- Demonstrate positive and professional behavior as a member of our accounting team
