Our mission is to improve the product quality of pharmaceutical drug manufacturing and save patient lives by leveraging the power of computer vision and advanced analytics. We are now seeking a talented and experienced Lead Data Scientist with either advanced academic and/or research expertise and/or the equivalent senior level industrial experience in computer vision to join our core team. Position Overview:
As the Lead Data Scientist in Computer Vision, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our AI-driven pharmaceutical software products. You will be responsible for leading the development and iterative improvement of computer vision algorithms and models, collaborating with company leadership and customer champions, and driving the overall vision of our AI solutions in the pharma space. Recent PhD graduates are welcome to apply. At this time, we are only able to accept applications from U.S. citizens, as we do not provide visa sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge computer vision algorithms and models for pharmaceutical applications.
2. Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and domain experts to define and refine product requirements and deliverables.
3. As the company scales, build a team of data scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
4. Conduct research on the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning, and identify potential applications for the pharma industry.
5. Communicate project updates, research findings, and strategic recommendations to the team.
6. Contribute to the growth and development of Modicus Prime by participating in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on computer vision and machine learning.
2. Minimum of either 5 years of experience in data science and computer vision with a MS degree OR 2 years with a PhD, preferably in the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
3. Excellent fundamental understanding of state-of-the-art object detection, segmentation, and classification model architectures.
4. Strong expertise in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, Hugging Face, and other relevant computer vision and machine learning libraries.
5. Proven experience in developing and implementing deep learning models for image and video analysis, including RCNNs and Transformer-based architectures.
6. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
7. Ability and desire to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
1. Solutions Architecture background with experience interfacing directly with customers.
2. Experience managing and mentoring a team of data scientists and engineers.

2. Job Type: Full-time
3. Pay (with equity): $110k - $150k depending on skills and/or qualifications
